OUR LEGACY

Established in 1996 in memory of Yvonne Richardson — daughter of legendary former Arkansas Razorbacks basketball coach Nolan Richardson and Rose Richardson — the center was founded on a simple promise: to ensure every child and family in Southeast Fayetteville has a safe, uplifting space to learn, play and grow. Over the past 30 years, the YRCC has grown from a neighborhood center into an indispensable pillar of the Fayetteville community.

A recently completed expansion added nearly 3,850 square feet and renovated about 9,500 square feet of existing space, creating new classrooms, a teaching kitchen and other improvements alongside upgrades to neighboring Ralph "Buddy" Hayes Park.

WHAT WE DO

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT & MENTORSHIP

Recreational, educational, and social programming helps young people learn, grow and build connections — from after-school care and mentoring to the center's new teaching kitchen and cooking classes.

Youth recreation, sports leagues, and wellness programming keep Fayetteville families active and engaged, with the center's recent expansion creating even more room for teen activities and everyday play.

More than a youth center, YRCC is a neighborhood hub the whole community can call home — offering family resources and community programs, with space available for reunions, meetings and special events.
